Do you like my Ship bow ornament? Is it bow or Stern?

The sirens chant will drive sailors mad, thatīs The reason she is gagged.

I was going to make the mistake of humanizing her fishtail by adding knees at the middel. Lots of pics show her with knees and according to the model sheets, that is wrong.
Also I was tempted to add scales to the tail, but it would have taken a huge amount of time, so Iīm happy with the results.

Just a silly pic with no real backstory, just an idea I wanted to materialize.

Getting a lot better with my home made cintiq, pic was done in about 3 days, when it usually took me a week. Still the angle of the monitor is not right. I have to double check my colors in another monitor or stand up to look at it right. When I get my custom frontplate, I will be able to lift it in a more vertical angle.

Iīm practiciong digital painting. Shouldnīt waste much time on backgrounds, but I liile it.

One of the good features of this would be that she would be kept wet, which is one of the necessities for keeping mermaids alive, according to the stories about them.

You don't need one while the ship is sailing. There would be plenty of spray to keep her at least wet. More probably, she'd be soaked.

I used to do fan-art of this character when I was younger and kept giving her knees myself. I kept fogetting that fish tails weren't supposed to have them.

Each one has its own interpretation of the character, but I found that The fan art I loved the most was the one closer to the original design. That is why I try to stay as close to model as possible. Emulating different styles and designs, you learn a lot!
